The Project Background
Donaldson operates over 40 sites throughout the UK and has publicly committed to significantly reducing the carbon footprint of its properties, which include manufacturing plants, distribution hubs, and office buildings.

The firm engaged with our funding partner for the installation of solar panels at three factories in Scotland and one in England, specifically at Donaldson Timber Engineering in Buckhaven and Cramlington, Donaldson Door Systems at Plains, and James Donaldson Timber in Leven.

Given the carbon-intensive nature of the timber industry, this collaboration was embarked upon to help The Donaldson Group achieve its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) objectives.
Achieving Sustainable Milestones
Our funding partner has successfully installed 116kWp of solar panels on the roof of the Cramlington factory.

This fully-funded initiative also includes the installation of four EV chargers at this location as well as at each of the Scottish sites, supporting the move towards greener transportation solutions.

The anticipated energy savings at the Cramlington facility for the inaugural year post-installation are projected to exceed £7,000, showcasing substantial financial benefits. This significant cost reduction is a direct result of our expertly designed solar panel installations, tailored to optimise efficiency and savings.
